RSCM Wales / RSCM Cymru

Croeso / Welcome

to the website for the Royal School of Church Music in Wales, where there are 150 affiliated churches and 40 individual members in six areas:

  • Gwent
  • Morgannwg
  • North-East Wales / St Asaph
  • North-West Wales / Bangor
  • Swansea and Brecon
  • West Wales / Dyfed

RSCM events in Wales are organised by a committee in each area. These range from Choral Festivals, and services to training days and workshops. Each area has its own page on the RSCM web site, and more details of the areas and their events can be found here.

Each area committee has an Educational and Training Officer (ETO) who, along with other members of the local committee, is responsible for arranging and planning these events, as well as overseeing local candidates attempting any of the RSCM's awards in the Voice for Life scheme.

The RSCM's Co-ordinator in Wales is Stuart Robinson.

The Welsh Eucharist / Cymun y Cymry

The RSCM has published a bilingual Eucharist setting for the Church in Wales Prayer Book. The Welsh Eucharist / Cymun y Cymry was composed by Professor John Harper (the RSCM's Director General). The setting is designed for use by unison, 2-part or 4-part choir. A podcast about this work is available here. You can buy copies online.

About the RSCM

The RSCM offers a number of training residential and day-long courses, and events such as Choral Festivals. We can also offer you and your church a wide variety of training materials, expertise and advice to enable, encourage and inspire all those involved in music-making, to do so to the highest standards appropriate to the churches and communities they serve.
